Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar on Friday approached Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, in the main such visit since his arrangement as head of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) prior this month, an announcement from the Prime Minister’s Office said.
Amid the meeting, the DG ISI and the head administrator examined strategy rules and inward security, sources in the PM House told DawnNews.
The chief valued the part ISI has played in the counter psychological oppression war.
Gen Mukhtar supplanted Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar as head of ISI prior in December.
The position of the ISI’s executive general fell empty after Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar was exchanged to National Defense University Islamabad as its leader.
Till Dec 7, Gen Mukhtar had been serving as corps administrator of Karachi. He was elevated to the rank of lieutenant general and presented on the armed force’s Corps V in Sept 2014.
Before his spell in Karachi, he has served in ISI as leader of its counter-fear based oppression wing. He has summoned a detachment in South Waziristan furthermore served in operations directorate of the armed force.
Naveed Mukhtar was authorized in the Armored Corps regiment in 1983. He is an alum of the Command and Staff College Quetta, National Defense University Islamabad and War Course USA. He had directed a Mechanized Division.
