The girl’s mother said that the hospital management was trying to keep the issue quiet. The 22-year-old alleged sweeper was taken into custody by the security officers and turned over to the Mozang police when she made a fuss.

The family has made accusations, but the police say their first investigations turned up no proof of sexual assault. On the basis of the police’s report, a case has been filed under the harassment laws against the suspect. The cops are examining the CCTV footage from the hospital.

The suspect was employed as a hospital cleaner, they added, and the girl’s mother was not inclined to pursue legal action. The police said that they had him under arrest and that they were still investigating.

Outside Ganga Ram Hospital, female paramedics and physicians staged protests in response to the incident. The protesters called for tougher regulations to guarantee the protection of female patients and employees within the hospital, as well as justice for the purported victim.

The girl’s family claimed that a hospital employee had made an attempt to rape the young girl. The traffic was reopened after the protest was over, but not before the nurses and students of Ganga Ram Hospital staged a protest and blocked it.

Fatima Jinnah Medical University Vice Chancellor Professor Khalid Masood Gondal called a meeting to address staff and student issues in reaction to the protests. The students promised to go meet with the leadership of the university to get further details about campus safety.

Gondal promised to listen to all of the students’ demands during the meeting he had set up with them at the institution.
