58th Session of the UNHRC in Geneva: Pakistan Dedicated to Upholding Human Rights, States Law Minister

Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar has reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast dedication to the advancement and safeguarding of Human Rights both nationally and internationally.

Addressing the High-Level Session of the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, the federal minister said more than 70 Laws related to Human Rights have been passed in the last decade and the 26th Constitutional Amendment recognized a clean, Healthy and sustainable environment as a Fundamental Right.

Azam Nazir Tarar declared Pakistan’s voluntary endorsement for the admission of poor and least developed countries in the council.

He condemned the ongoing atrocities by Israel in occupied Palestine, especially in Gaza and urged the international community to take decisive steps to protect the Rights of the Palestinian People.

He articulated profound apprehensions regarding egregious human rights violations in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by India.
