In its bid to further improve user experience, WhatsApp has introduced a new update via its test flight beta program allowing the users to pin messages in chats and groups.

The new option will enhance the user experience for the Meta-owned platform as it will make it easy to find selected messages in clustered chats by allowing users to pin messages at the top of the chats, said WABeta info.

The ability to pin messages will be available for both individual and group chats and one can access it by simply selecting the desired message after which an option pops up asking the user for the duration for which the message needs to be pinned.

The feature allows users to pin desired messages for 24 hours, seven days and 30 days.

This new feature is already available on the TestFlight app and now the Meta-owned platform is introducing it for iOS users as well.

Despite some users being able to experience this option by downloading the app’s latest version from the App Store. However, it will take time for the masses to be able to utilise this new feature.

For now, the option is limited and available to a handful of beta testers who have installed the latest version of the platform from the TestFlight app.

In terms of practicality, the feature will especially come in handy in group chats where it might be used to make announcements allowing the members to easily access important updates and messages that are pinned.

Early in 2025, six months after the iPhone 16 series introduction, tech giant Apple plans to release the iOS 18.3 upgrade, which will include a redesigned AI-powered Siri.

Apple is probably going to release iOS 18.1 in October of this year, right after the new iPhone lineup is released.

The update will introduce the first wave of Apple Intelligence, which will include Notification Summaries, Writing Tools, Photos Clean Up, and a minor revamp of Siri.

Image Playground, Genmoji, and ChatGPT integration are anticipated in iOS 18.2.

But before iPhone owners can use the AI-powered Siri, they will have to wait until January 2025, when Apple is anticipated to release the iOS 18.3 update.

The release schedule for the updated Siri was not disclosed by Apple when it made the announcement at its Worldwide Developers’ Conference in June 2024.

However, new information indicates that the company intends to include the AI features in iOS 18.3 as early as January.

With this upgrade, the tech business plans to improve functionality and redesign Siri, adding a flashing light around the screen edges upon activation.

It is important to note that in order to improve Siri’s AI capabilities, Apple and OpenAI worked together to incorporate ChatGPT technology.

Apple debuted the much anticipated iPhone 16 with enhanced AI on September 10 and promised updates to its personal assistant, Siri, along with new software that will go live in test mode the following month.

“Apple Intelligence was the driving force behind the design of the upcoming iPhone generation. “At a product introduction, Chief Executive Tim Cook declared that it signified the start of an exciting new age.

At $220.91, the tech giant’s shares finished the day hardly changed. The competitive challenge faced by the iPhone maker was highlighted by Apple’s event, which took place just hours before China’s Huawei unveiled a tri-fold phone. To power the 16s, Apple has not yet revealed its AI partner in China.
