Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, has issued a strong warning on the abundance of trash in marketplaces and streets.

A meeting was called under her direction to talk about the province-wide execution of a comprehensive solid waste management plan. The proposed agreement to outsource the solid waste management system was reviewed during the meeting.

At transfer stations, garbage classified as organic, inorganic, ferrous, and plastic would be carefully sorted. At every divisional headquarters in the province, it was decided to set up 66 transfer stations and 23 dump sites.

The installation of a digital monitoring system to supervise the solid waste management operations was approved by Maryam Nawaz. She ordered a thorough examination of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) enterprises’ performance, as they are financially involved and receive subsidies.

Zeeshan Rafiq, a provincial minister, has been particularly assigned by the chief minister to oversee and guarantee openness in the solid waste management system’s outsourcing. She stressed how important it is to have clean roads, streets, and garbage-transporting vehicles.

She commanded that cleaning guidelines be followed and declared that carelessness would not be accepted.
