The meeting of the parliamentary party will be presided over by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. A summary of the discussions over the budget and other grievances with the government will be given to the audience.

Sources aware of the development claimed that tomorrow will also see the decision on the budget vote for 2024–25.

Additionally, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s speech to the National Assembly today has been rescheduled until tomorrow; originally scheduled to take place today.

In an effort to secure the PPP’s backing for the enactment of Budget 2024–25, the Shehbaz Sharif–led government agreed to “all demands” made by the party, which is a significant ally.

The PML-N has reportedly conceded to the PPP’s demands around early local body elections, equal distribution of development funds among lawmakers from both parties, appointment of law officers, representation on various boards and authorities, and control over district administration.

It was said during the discussions that the government could not take political revenge on a partner party and acknowledged any anti-PPP backlash in Punjab.
