The Punjab government bolsters security for Pakistan’s autonomous Chinese community.

In an effort to strengthen security measures for Chinese citizens in Pakistan, the Punjab government has launched an extensive study that is centred on Chinese nationals who enter the nation as independent individuals.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has reportedly established a specialised Chinese Security Intelligence Unit to supervise and improve security procedures.

Alternative surveillance and security measures are required because it has been observed that many independent Chinese citizens do not use mobile applications. This information has been communicated to Chinese authorities.

“Recent high-level apex meetings have prioritised the security of Chinese residents as a critical concern,” Punjab Home Department sources revealed. The security preparations for their independent residents living in Pakistan have been communicated to Chinese authorities as part of these efforts.

In order to expedite security monitoring, the Home Department intends to mandate Chinese residents use a certain mobile application, which will enable them to monitor more effectively and guarantee quick response times in the event of an emergency.

Moreover, 50 bomb-proof cars are now present in both CPEC and non-CPEC projects. This growth comes from previous years. The Services & General Administration Department (S&GAD) has also set up a special bomb-proof car pool to support operating requirements and emergency scenarios.

These actions are a part of the continuous efforts by Pakistani authorities to protect the interests of Chinese people living and working in Pakistan and to promote bilateral security cooperation. The government of Punjab is steadfast in its commitment to upholding a safe atmosphere that fosters China-Pakistan cooperation and economic projects.
