In Canada, another member of the PIA cabin crew goes missing

There are worries about the growing number of cabin crew personnel who are allegedly disappearing while on duty after another Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) steward went missing in Toronto.

On October 13, Mohsin Raza, the missing crew member, was scheduled to report for duty on aircraft PK 784, which was headed for Karachi. But Raza, from Islamabad, was reported missing from the hotel before to the trip. On the Islamabad-Toronto route, he was assigned to the cabin crew.

After failing to show up for the flight, the steward was reported missing.

This occurrence represents the twelfth reported case of a PIA flight attendant going missing following a layover in Toronto in a single year. The practice seems to have had little effect in reducing the problem, despite PIA’s best efforts to stop such incidents, such as the rule requiring air hostesses to provide their passports to airline personnel while they are in Canada.

A representative for the PIA verified that the missing air hostess has been the target of action, and that the situation is being looked into. The airline’s prior experiences with such issues involving its cabin staff have sparked questions about the internal controls in place to keep these kinds of things from happening again.

The security of the diplomatic enclave and the red zone is the government’s main priority, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar.

The deputy prime minister told the Dplomate Corps in Islamabad that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had a violent past and that it was responsible for the current upheaval in the Federal Capital.

The president of Belarus visited Pakistan on November 24 and the government had to welcome him and his entourage, he said, but PTI chose the same day for its agitation tactics.

According to Senator Ishaq Dar, the party leadership convened multiple lengthy meetings to try to alter the protests’ date and venue, but their ill-intentioned actions prevented the change from succeeding.

This year, the government established the Law of Peace and Protection Act 2024, which prohibits such protests in certain areas. However, the PTI leadership disregarded this law and continued to protest in the red zone, according to the Foreign Minister.

According to Dar, the PTI also made up the tale of the 35 punctures in 2013 that claimed electoral tampering, but the investigation found that this was untrue.
