In order to provide all of the province’s major cities with new drainage and sewage systems, the Punjab government has made the decision to start a development program.

The province’s ongoing projects were reviewed during a special meeting led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The current WATSAN framework projects were also discussed at the meeting.

In addition to seeking a plan for 189 cities with populations above 100,000, the chief minister authorized the massive plan for drainage and sewage systems. Sewage, water drainage, rainwater disposal, street paving, and other development projects will be completed under this program, according to the project.

This is the first time that sewage bypasses and disposal plants would be built in Punjabi cities. In order to dispose of rainwater right away, storage tanks will also be constructed. These tanks’ stored water will be utilized for irrigation as well as other uses.

It was decided during the meeting to install water supply and sewage pipelines at suitable intervals throughout cities in order to maintain the safety of the clean water.

In every provincial constituency, highways up to 30 kilometers in length will also be built or rebuilt.

The panel also examined the plan to construct model communities in Punjab. The chief minister immediately gave directions for carrying out the Punjab Development Program and gave his approval for the building of model villages.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz spoke at the event and said the province’s citizens would gain from the Clean Punjab Program.

Roads will be shielded from harm and degradation by establishing a durable and secure sewage system.
