Delivering a statement during the organizational session of the 2026 UN Water Conference in New York, Pakistan’s alternate permanent representative to the UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad underlined that the conference offers a vital chance to speed worldwide efforts toward achieving SDG 6—ensuring clean Water and sanitation for all.

Living Indus and “recharge Pakistan” projects, as Asim Iftikhar Ahmad pointed out, have other co-benefits including climate mitigation and adaptation, better water quality, flood resilience, and biodiversity protection.

Directing the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency to reach the aim of Three Marla Free Plot Scheme by March, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz
The Chief Minister guided this in a Special Meeting called to examine the three Marla Free Plot Scheme across the province.
The Project was thoroughly briefed to the Chief Minister by the Director General Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency.
The Chief Minister was informed that loan repayments under the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar program have begun and their return percentage is one hundred percent.
In the province, under Scheme Nine Thousand Six Hundred and Sixty One Houses are under building.
The conference also discussed the issue of three Marla Free Plot Scheme loan distribution to individuals for house development.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also directed the renovation and enhancement of twenty-three former Housing Schemes of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency in nineteen Districts.
The chief minister expressed tremendous worry over housing the homeless population and said it is good to see houses under the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar Program being built.
Aiming for five hundred thousand in five years, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Said Punjab Government is resolved.
