Pakistan’s commitment to the Trans Afghan railway project has been reaffirmed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who has emphasised that this revolutionary project will revolutionise trade throughout the region.
Speaking at the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum in Tashkent on Wednesday, he stated that both nations would be taking action to make this initiative a reality.
According to the prime minister, the ports of Karachi and Gwadar would serve as the centre of economic activity.
He emphasised that NLC already uses Afghanistan to ship supplies to countries in Central Asia. According to him, both nations have in principle decided that NLC will work with its Uzbek equivalent to establish a cooperative firm for the transportation of products and services.
The prime minister emphasised the wide range of areas in which the two nations have collaborated, adding that Uzbekistan has expressed a strong desire to support Pakistan’s mining and mineral industry.
He pointed out that Uzbekistan’s experience in joint ventures will be very helpful in advancing this industry.
We can collaborate in other fields, like information technology, agriculture, textiles, tourism, and others, he remarked.
According to the prime minister, this business summit will significantly contribute to the advancement of our objectives and aspirations and the realisation of our common dreams.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted in his remarks on the occasion that Uzbekistan and Pakistan are complementary economies rather than rivals. According to him, there are several chances for collaboration and partnership across various industries.
For Pakistani businesspeople interested in investing in Uzbekistan, the president of Uzbekistan promised all cooperation and facilitation.
According to him, both nations may benefit from one another’s knowledge and experience in a number of fields, such as mining and minerals, energy, pharmaceuticals, and textiles. This bilateral relationship will reach a new height, he remarked.
