The Establishment Division released an SRO in response to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s amendments to the promotion guidelines for government personnel.
The new SRO states that an officer’s case for advancement in Grade 22 may only be reviewed twice. The officer’s case won’t be taken up again if he doesn’t get promoted. At such point, an officer from any service group will be regarded as having retired from his prior grade.
