RAWALPINDI: Following the accountability court’s ruling in the Toshakhana case, Bushra Bibi, the spouse of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, turned herself in, according to ARY News.

This came about as a result of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi being fined Rs787 million and given 14 years in prison in the Toshakhana case by an Accountability Court (AC).

Following her conviction, Bushra Bibi went to the Adiala prison and turned herself in to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), who had already arrived to take her into custody.

According to reports, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team was “constituted” to take former first lady Bushra Bibi into custody.

According to those with knowledge of the issue, the NAB team and a police team will depart to apprehend Bushra Bibi following the court’s comprehensive ruling.

The founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was hauled before the court today, but Bushra Bibi did not show up.

The former prime minister said, “The statement is in the room; I was only called to appear before the court,” in response to a question regarding his 342 statement.

The judge said, “Don’t waste court time,” and ordered Imran Khan to provide his statement right now.

The PTI founder said, “The lawyers have not yet arrived; I will submit the statement after showing them,” and he exited the courtroom.

After the PTI head was disqualified by the Election Commission of Pakistan last year for making “false statements and incorrect declaration,” the Toshakhana matter became a significant political hotspot in the country.

It also occurs only one day after Imran and his foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi were given ten years in prison for violating state secrets by a special court created under the Official Secrets Act.

The decision in the cypher case was declared by Special Court Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain shortly after the two accused’s confessions under Section 342 were recorded during the Tuesday hearing.
