Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was called by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday to address inconsistencies in his declaration of assets and liabilities filed for the general elections of 2024.

CM Gandapur has been directed by the ECP to physically attend on Tuesday and give an explanation about his assets.

Earlier, the ECP consented to hear a petition asking for Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s disqualification.

In a quick ruling on the petition, a two-member court stated that Ali Amin Gandapur had neglected to turn in his assets to the electoral commission.

Kafeel Nizami of Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI) submitted a petition to disqualify Gandapur on the grounds that he misrepresented his property in the nomination papers, casting doubt on his honesty. In the petition, it was requested that Gandapur be removed from his chief ministership by the ECP.

Although Asif Khan was the original owner, 735 kanals of land in DI Khan were temporarily transferred to Ali Amin Gandapur, according to a petition filed with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) by Kafeel Nizami.

He gave misleading information to obtain a Land Cruiser car through the sale of the same land, which disqualifies him from serving in the Provincial Assembly.
