At the first meeting of the Committee on Improving Government efficiency, which was established by the Prime Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, presided over the proceedings.

Under the direction of Senator Ishaq Dar, the Sub-Groups were instructed to move quickly in collaboration with all of the stakeholders and to make recommendations for practical changes that would improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery of the government for the people of Pakistan.
