The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a drop in electricity costs by more than Rs1.22 per unit for a duration of one month, providing relief to electricity users nationwide.

A notification concerning the price reduction has been disseminated.

However, the reduction will not apply to lifeline consumers, electric vehicle charging stations, and consumers using more than 300 units.

Analysis of price reduction:
Distribution companies (DISCOs): Reduction of Rs1.22 per unit
K-Electric consumers: Reduction of Rs1.23 per unit
The price reduction has been enacted as a component of the December Fuel Price Adjustment (FCA). The decrease for DISCOs is determined by the FCA for December, however for K-Electric clients, the modification aligns with the fuel price fluctuation of November.

NEPRA’s notification verifies that the adjusted electricity tariffs will be evident in the February electricity bills for consumers nationwide.
