Zartaj Gul, a former federal minister and leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said on Monday that plans to prolong the term of a government with just 17 seats were being made in violation of the constitution.

“The government has not spared the judiciary or journalists, and they have already portrayed political workers as terrorists,” PTI leader Zartaj Gul told the media in Islamabad.

She also said that the constitution, the provinces, and political parties were not safe during the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government, and that only the judiciary ultimately escaped unharmed.

“I regret that the Supreme Court, judges, and all benches have become controversial since the 26th constitutional amendment,” she said.

She questioned the status of the nation under PML-N government, claiming that lawsuits were being filed against even lawyers.

The PTI leader emphasized that politicians may work with anyone and that political beliefs can differ.

She made it clear that joining Maulana Fazlur Rehman or any other political party does not imply that their beliefs coincide with those of the PTI. Ideologies vary among political parties.

According to Zartaj Gul, the country as a whole needs to come together in support of PTI in order to form a grand alliance. Since the PTI is currently the only party with a stronghold, everyone must support Imran Khan, and all political parties should back the PTI’s founder.

The former federal minister claimed that in order to extend the rule of a party with just 17 seats, the constitution, the Supreme Court, judges, and everything else were being compromised. According to her, on February 8, their missionheir mandate was stolen.
