On Monday, the Directorate of Immigration and Passports announced the extension of its expedited passport service to 26 more cities in Pakistan, increasing the total to 47 cities.

A notification to this effect has been disseminated.

The fast track service, previously limited to major cities including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta, will now be available in several other regions to enhance public convenience.

The announcement states that inhabitants of Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mianwali, and Bhakkar can now access the accelerated passport issuing service.

The expansion additionally encompasses Kohat, Swabi, Swat, DI Khan, Bannu, Hangu, Abbottabad, and Haripur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The service has been launched in major cities of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), namely Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Bagh, Kotli, and Rawalakot.

This initiative seeks to expedite the processing of passport applications for residents of these cities, who once needed to travel to bigger urban centers to access the service.

The fast track category enables applicants to obtain their passports in an expedited manner, a service particularly advantageous for individuals needing urgent travel paperwork.

Officials anticipate that the new approach will markedly decrease waiting periods and travel costs for citizens, hence enhancing access to essential travel papers.

The Directorate of Immigration and Passports has instructed the people to reach out to their nearest passport offices for additional information and to utilize the service.
