Free of Trachomas Pakistan: Prime Minister Celebrates Nation’s Trachoma-Free Status

Pakistan has been deemed a country free of Trachoma by the World Health Organisation.

In this regard, at a ceremony in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a letter of congratulations from Dr. Luo Dapeng, the head of the WHO mission in Pakistan.

In his speech, the prime minister congratulated the health ministry, provincial governments, NGOS, and other specialists who worked hard to make this happen, as well as the entire country, for this noteworthy accomplishment.

Shehbaz Sharif also stressed the importance of eradicating hepatitis and polio from the nation.

According to the prime minister, the federal government will keep up its efforts to prevent illness.

He asserted that we may achieve success in all areas of life if we work together.

The WHO and other partners were praised by the prime minister for their assistance in the eradication of trachoma.

The government has appointed Justice Retired Faqir Mohammad Khokhar to lead the Missing Persons Commission, the Additional Attorney General told the Supreme Court.
In front of a Supreme Court bench, the Additional Attorney General stated that the government takes the problem of missing people seriously and plans to establish special tribunals for them through legislation.
He stated that the law-making process in this case is currently being worked on by a Cabinet Committee.
The bench expressed hope that the Government moves quickly on this matter as Justice Jamal Mandokhail said the Court cannot Issue directions on legislation process.
Hearing adjourned indefinitely by the court.

Both leaders discussed economic cooperation and bilateral ties.
