In the Karachi neighborhood of Shah Faisal Colony, a five-year-old kid died on Sunday after falling into an open manhole.According to the details, five-year-old Huzaifa fell into an uncovered manhole in Shah Faisal Colony No-II, close to a marriage hall. After two hours of frantic work, rescue crews arrived at the scene after being alerted and removed the body from the Korangi Garden canal.
Locals protested the incident and called for the officials involved to be held accountable. They believed that in spite of multiple reminders, the relevant officials did not act.
Children, pedestrians, and drivers find open manholes in the nation’s largest metropolis to be an annoyance, perhaps as a result of theft or a lack of upkeep by local authorities.
