Jay Shah speaks up about India traveling to Pakistan to compete in the Champions Trophy.

Finally addressing the prospect of the Indian cricket team traveling to Pakistan for the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is Jay Shah, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The BCCI is requesting permission from the government to visit Pakistan, therefore India’s participation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is slated to take place there in February and March, is still up in the air.

When asked whether India would visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy in 2025, Jay Shah responded in a recent interview with an Indian news organization.

The BCCI would assess the circumstances and make the decision at the suitable moment, he said, adding that no decision has been made in stone.

Though he did note that no final judgment has been made, he emphasized that the BCCI will evaluate the circumstances and take appropriate action as necessary.

No stand at this time. Jay Shah said, “When the time comes, we’ll cross the bridge.”

Recall that reports stated that the Indian squad will not be visiting Pakistan for the forthcoming ICC event surfaced in Indian media, citing a BCCI source.

It was reported in other publications that the board had officially suggested Dubai and Sri Lanka as possible locations for India’s matches.

At the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2023, India has previously declined to go to Pakistan to compete. Sri Lanka filled in as a co-host for the continental tournament, which was organized under a hybrid format.

Remarkably, given the long-standing political difficulties between the two neighboring countries, India has not visited Pakistan since the Asia Cup in 2008.
