Karachi marks the start of the Sea Guard-25 maritime security exercise.

Under the sponsorship of the Pakistan Navy, Commander Coast, Rear Admiral Faisal Amin, attended the opening brief of Exercise Sea Guard-25.

Exercise Sea Guard, the second of its kind, is a Pakistan Navy project designed to unite representatives from the country’s various maritime industries, such as shipping, fishing, law enforcement, private companies, and non-governmental organizations, on a single platform to jointly tackle complex maritime issues.

During the opening brief, participants were apprised of the aims and objectives of exercise sea guard and the critical role of the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre in ensuring maritime safety and security along Pakistan’s Coastline.

By utilizing JMICC as a shared platform to improve the security of Pakistan’s Maritime Zones, the exercise aims to improve cooperation among national parties while adhering to their own legal frameworks.

In order to enhance and strengthen current security measures, it consists of a number of useful scenario-based exercises at sea as well as tabletop talks.

Rear Admiral Faisal Amin, Commander Coast, thanked all national stakeholders for their involvement and acknowledged their efforts to promote a safer maritime environment.
