To mark the 33rd anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide, a seminar titled “Khojaly Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing: a Crime Against Humanity” was organized at the National Library in Islamabad.
The Muslim Institute and the Azerbaijani embassy worked together to plan the event.
Distinguished speakers, such as Ambassadors Khazar Farhadov of Azerbaijan and Irfan Neziroglu of Turkiye to Pakistan, discussed the historical tragedy and underlined the value of justice and international solidarity.
They emphasized how Armenia turned Armenia into a mono-ethnic state by forcibly expelling 250,000 Azerbaijanis in 1988 after forcing approximately 150,000 of them to leave between 1948 and 1953.
613 innocent Azerbaijani villagers, including 106 women and 83 children, were brutally massacred during the Khojaly Genocide in February 1992.
