A truce has been declared in Kurram, and both parties are following it, said Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor.
The Kurram issue has been around for 130 years, and he said he is hopeful that it will be settled once and for all.
Barrister Saif told reporters that the Kurram Agreement is anticipated to be inked tomorrow.
“Both sides have agreed to surrender their weapons and open the gates, signaling a move towards lasting peace,” according to him.
While one side has already committed to gathering weapons, the other has asked for more time.
To ensure that all decisions are carried out efficiently, the Apex Committee has been given the authority to supervise the procedure.
“The government is committed to preventing such incidents in the future,” Barrister Saif said, acknowledging the awful loss of human life during the recent riots in Kurram.
