To increase tourism, PM Shehbaz directs the construction of contemporary hotels.

ISLAMABAD: In an effort to increase tourism in the nation, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif sent a detailed report to the relevant authorities on the construction of new hotels and other facilities through joint ventures and public-private partnerships.

As the prime minister chaired a meeting about Capital Development Authority (CDA) activities today, he stated, “Tourism will be promoted throughout the country with the availability of modern facilities.”

In the federal capital, PM Shehbaz praised CDA’s performance in arranging the recent international conferences and other events.

He stated, “The start of international conferences in Pakistan is the certificate of our success on the diplomatic front,” and that the ongoing efforts of the current government had restored the trust of the friendly nations.

PM Shehbaz underlined the necessity of enhancing hotels, hospitals, and other infrastructure in order to organize conferences and events of a global caliber in the nation.

PM Shehbaz gave the order to make sure that visitors from friendly nations may enjoy amenities of the highest caliber. In order to further enhance facilities for the citizens of the federal capital, he also gave the CDA instructions.

The pre-feasibility reports for the rebuilding of Islamabad’s non-operational government buildings and the development of new hotels were presented to the meeting.

Top officials, including Chairman CDA and Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, attended the meeting.

Earlier, the prime minister said that the government is introducing major reforms to promote the tourism industry and make the Pakistan a tourist destination.

“We have undertaken major reforms by adopting a tourist-friendly visa regime under which tourists from 126 countries can obtain fast-track visas without fee. I am confident that this decision will play a key role in in the promotion of the sector and open new avenues for socioeconomic development in Pakistan,” the prime minister added.

He said, ”Pakistan joins the global community to celebrate the World Tourism Day under the patronage of the United Nations Tourism Organization.”

On Monday, gold prices in Pakistan experienced a notable rise due to a favorable change in worldwide markets.

The price of gold per tola increased by Rs500, attaining Rs282,900.The increase followed a decrease in gold prices during the prior session, where the price had dropped by Rs200 to conclude at Rs282,400 on Saturday.

On Monday, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs429, reaching Rs242,541.

The increase in local gold prices reflected the favorable trend in the worldwide market, where the price of gold per ounce reached $2,708, plus an additional premium of $20. This was a $5 rise inside a single day.

Conversely, silver prices declined, with the price per tola decreasing by Rs9 to reach Rs3,372.

Analysts ascribe the rise in gold prices to variations in global demand, as investors seek refuge in precious metals amid economic concerns. As global markets exhibit ongoing volatility, analysts anticipate additional swings in the values of gold and silver in the forthcoming weeks.

The federal government’s negotiation team has completed a comprehensive written reply to the demands put out by PTI.

The statement addresses all points presented by PTI, including the rejection to establish a judicial panel for the events of May 9.

The administration highlighted that judicial commissions are constituted for issues not subject to judicial review, and cases pertaining to May 9 are currently being adjudicated in courts, with certain persons having been condemned by military tribunals.

PTI has consented to engage in negotiations with the Prime Minister’s committee. An in-camera session has been arranged at Parliament House to further deliberate on the topic.

The letter response requests comprehensive lists of missing persons and arrested individuals from PTI, inquiring how measures for their release may be implemented without adequate information. Furthermore, PTI’s assertions concerning fatalities during protests necessitate corroborative data.

The government committee intends to deliver the written response to National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq in the imminent future. The Speaker will determine whether to convene the fourth round of discussions upon receipt of the response.
