After Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz lowered naan and roti rates, Nanbais clashed with the government.

All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran proclaimed a Punjab and Islamabad nanbai curfew on Wednesday.

Gujjar Khan, Jatli, Kallar Syedan, and Taxila have shuttered tandoors. Bread-hungry people have moved to bakeries.

Additionally, the Rawalpindi district administration has seized dozens of tandoors and filed lawsuits against their proprietors.

Ajmal Baloch, president of All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran, declared the strike by calling for the release of dozens of nanbais arrested across the province.

Baloch criticised the Punjab government for closing one labor firm to help another.

He believed the government could not solve the masses’ problems with force.

Traders’ leader said naan cost Rs20 but wheat bags cost Rs10,000. A Rs2,000 flour bag price rise raised the naan price to Rs25.
