An attempt to use drones to smuggle drugs across the border was successfully foiled by police, who arrested one smuggler while two others escaped.
Two sophisticated drones and 4.5 kilos of premium heroin were found during the raid.
The drones are worth PKR 5 million, while the heroin that was seized is worth PKR 7 million.
When the suspects were stopped at a police checkpoint, they were riding a motorcycle in the direction of Badwal Motor.
To find the remaining suspects, police have started a search.

One of the key concerns is still security at the Narowal border. The area is heavily monitored by Rangers and India’s Border Security Force (BSF) due to potential cross-border activities such as smuggling, illegal crossings, and drone surveillance. In recent years, several incidents involving the use of drones for narcotics smuggling have been reported, prompting increased vigilance and enhanced security measures.
Unlike the Wagah Border, which serves as a key trade route between India and Pakistan, the Narowal border does not facilitate major commercial trade. However, the Kartarpur Corridor has played a vital role in improving connectivity between people on both sides, particularly within the Sikh community, by providing them an opportunity to visit a revered religious site.
