The nations of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration in the fields of science, technology, higher education, and health.

The pledge was stated in the proclamation that was accepted in Islamabad following the conclusion of the COMSTECH Consortium of Excellence’s second annual meeting and the week-long visit of a high-level delegation of vice chancellors and rectors from OIC member nations.

The purpose of the 28-member delegation’s visit to Pakistan was to discuss potential collaborations with 17 top universities and institutes from OIC nations, including Palestine, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Oman, Jordan, Somalia, Uganda, Tanzania, Mauritania, Indonesia, and Iran.

During the visit, more than 30 memorandums of understanding were signed, paving the way for faculty exchanges, cooperative research and industrial ventures, and joint projects.

By using training, workshops, and seminars to capitalise on one another’s skills and knowledge, the delegation underlined the value of reciprocal learning.
