Over 5.48 million bales of cotton are delivered to ginneries.

This is a decline of 33.52 percent when compared to the same time period in the previous year. As of January 15, 2025, seed cotton (phutti) that is equivalent to more than 5.489 million (5,489,818) bales has been delivered to ginning plants across Pakistan.

Over 5.489 million bales have been transformed into bales, as stated in a report that was circulated to the media on Saturday by the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA), which is a report that is given every two weeks. It was documented that there were 2,686,521 bales of cotton arriving in Punjab. This represents a decline of 35.40 percent when compared to the same period of the previous year, when there were 4,158,606 bales of textiles arriving in Punjab.

A decline of 31.62 percent was reported in Sindh’s production of 2,803,297 bales as compared to the same period in the previous year, when the number of bales that were recorded was 4,099,509 bales.

Cotton ginners reported a decrease of over 33 percent in the number of cotton arrivals in the previous year.

In the province of Balochistan, 156,500 bales were recorded as having arrived.

The textile industry purchased a total of 4,901,034 bales of cotton, while exporters and brokers added 46,700 bales to their inventory. According to the report, the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) refrained from purchasing cotton between the years 2024 and 2025. It was estimated that there were as many as 542,084 unsold bales in stock.

Across the nation, there were a total of 140 ginning plants that were functioning.

The ombudsman Punjab Nankana Sahib Region held an awareness seminar at Government Captain Hassan Nawaz Shaheed MC High School.
