Pakistan calls for a ceasefire and long-term peace in Gaza.

On Tuesday, Pakistan’s ambassador, Asim Iftikhar, underlined the importance of an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza. Ambassador Iftikhar told the UN Security Council that the Council should not back down from the forced expulsion of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. “The Middle East’s instability stems from Israel’s illegal occupation,” he stated, emphasizing the need for the international community to give the building of a lasting peace in the occupied Palestinian territories top priority. According to the envoy, Israel’s aggression in the West Bank must end right once since occupation and coercion cannot bring about stability.

The Sindh Education Department has declared updated school hours for the month of Ramazan.

The education authority has announced that single-shift primary schools will operate from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with extended hours until 11:30 AM on Fridays.

Primary schools with double shift would follow a different time table: the morning shift would be functional from 7:30am to 11:30pm, while the afternoon shift from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.

On Fridays, the initial shift will be from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by the subsequent shift from 11:45 AM to 1:30 PM.

For secondary, higher secondary, and elementary schools working in a single shift, the schedule will be from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with an early dismissal at 11:30 AM on Fridays.

Double-shift secondary and higher secondary schools will have the first shift from 7:30am to 11:30am and the second shift from 11:45am to 2:45pm.

On Fridays, the first shift would be from 7:30am to 11:30am while the second shift would be from 11:45am to 1:30pm.

The Punjab government requests an extension for arguments in the May 9 cases.

The Punjab government has requested additional time to submit reasons in its appeal for the revocation of bail granted to the accused in the May 9 assault on military installations in Rawalpindi.

A three-member panel, led by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, adjudicated the petitions submitted by the Punjab administration.

During the hearing, the additional prosecutor general asked time to submit JIT reports, indicating that arguments will be based on their findings.

The CJP observed that several appeals pertained to case transfers, which have now rendered invalid.

The court was notified that the judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi had been reassigned and that a fine of Rs200,000 had been levied on 11 transferred cases.

The Supreme Court allotted time for the Punjab government to submit its report and scheduled additional hearings on the issue.

Punjab will establish a new department to address organized crime.

he Punjab government has decided to establish up a new department to tackle organised criminals.

The establishment of the CCD was sanctioned during a meeting presided over by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

The department would utilize all advanced technologies, including drone surveillance, to limit seven major crimes, including robbery, extortion, rape, murder and theft and land mafia.

The CCD will also monitor crime-related data and act against criminal networks.

The department will be overseen by an Additional Inspector General, with three DIGs, SSPs, SPs in divisional headquarters, and DSPs in each districts.

A total of 4,258 officers and personnel will be part of the CCD, with 2,258 officers immediately moved from Punjab Police.

The chief minister approved the acquisition of buildings, cars, and modern equipment for the department, as well as the prompt enactment of laws for its legal structure.
