Pakistan celebrated the arrival of 2025 with great vigor and stringent security measures.

Details show that while authorities put policies in place to protect the public, cities all around the nation saw fireworks, concerts, and get-togethers.

In order to prevent aerial fire, one-wheeling, and the usage of motorcycles without silencers, Section 144 was enforced in Karachi for two days. A comprehensive strategy to control vehicle movement was announced by traffic officials, and police began cracking down on offenders.

Heavy traffic on the roads leading to Mai Kolachi was prohibited, and roads such as Teen Talwar, PIDC, and Club Road remained closed.

More Sindh Rangers were stationed near public spaces and major routes. To keep the peace, patrols and snap checks were stepped up by mobile and motorcycle units. Those involved in aerial firing will face attempted murder charges, according to Karachi police.

Kamran Tessori, the governor of Sindh, wished everyone a happy new year and promised to provide 500,000 IT courses by 2025. Water, garbage management, and power would all be upgraded, he promised.

The Governor House celebrations included a 40-minute fireworks show that was paid for by private donations. MQM leader Dr. Farooq Sattar urged hope and emphasized the event’s importance.

At a retail center, Quetta held a vibrant event that included a cake-cutting ceremony and stunning pyrotechnics. Greetings were exchanged, and prayers for peace and prosperity were offered.

Multan’s traffic police held a ceremony to mark the New Year, cutting a celebratory cake and displaying electric fireworks. The Chief Traffic Officer urged citizens to avoid risky behaviours such as aerial firing and one-wheeling.

Port Grand in Karachi organised a concert attended by large crowds, while Park View City in Islamabad sparkled with lights and fireworks. Food stalls and live performances by renowned singers entertained visitors.

In Murree, tourists flocked to Mall Road, creating a carnival-like atmosphere. Authorities ensured strict security arrangements to manage the influx of visitors.

Gujranwala witnessed a spectacular fireworks show, with citizens dancing and chanting slogans in support of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Shazia Marri expressed hope for a prosperous and peaceful 2025. She urged citizens to work collectively for the nation’s progress and paid tribute to the martyrs.

President Zardari’s message on new year

President Asif Ali Zardari extended warm greetings to the Pakistani nation and the global community at the beginning of the new year. He expressed hope for peace, stability, and prosperity for the country.

President Zardari prayed for national progress and prosperity in the coming year and hoped it would bring stability and development.

He stated that he expected the year to mark growth and prosperity, along with global peace and harmony.

The president emphasised the need for unity, discipline, and hard work to address the challenges facing the country. He stressed the importance of providing opportunities to the youth and investing in their potential to strengthen Pakistan.

President Zardari highlighted the necessity of focusing on the development of the underprivileged segments of society to build a stronger nation. He urged the nation to review past achievements and failures, learn from history, and move forward with determination.

He called upon the people to reaffirm their commitment to public service, peace, and stability through dedication and hard work. He prayed for the new year to bring success and prosperity to the nation.

COAS Visits Bannu and Promises Terrorism Justice

Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff, traveled to Bannu after the March 4 terrorist attack on Bannu cantonment was thwarted.
COAS examined the general security situation in the region as well as ongoing security operations during the visit.
