Pakistan-Russia Relations: A Historic Agreement Strengthens Ties Between Russia and Pakistan

A historic cooperation agreement was inked in Moscow by the Russian State Duma and the National Assembly of Pakistan.

The agreement intends to create long-term structures for cooperation through committees, commissions, and parliamentary groups, as well as strengthen links between the two legislative bodies.

Vyacheslav Volodin, the chairman of the Russian State Duma, and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly, signed the deal.

Speaker Sadiq thanked Mr. Volodin for agreeing to travel to Pakistan and for supporting Pakistan’s plan to have a Speakers Conference Format.

The two sides agreed to hold the fourth session of the Speakers Conference in Moscow in 2025.

Speaker Sadiq suggested that not only official but also business delegations may be invited to this meeting to enhance economic cooperation.

This development marks a significant milestone in Pakistan-Russia relations, which have been warming up in recent years.

The two countries have been cooperating in various fields, including defense, energy, and trade.

Punjab Cabinet Meets in Lahore: PTI Mob Approves Package for Wounded and Martyr Cops

Special packages for those killed and injured in the heinous violence committed by PTI workers have been approved by the Punjab Cabinet. These rewards include one million rupees apiece for injured police and ranger personnel and a total of 29 million rupees for the martyred Punjab Police Constable.

The Provincial Cabinet offered Fateha for the security personnel killed in the protest and vehemently denounced the heinous violence and attacks on police and Rangers that occurred during the PTI’s violent demonstration on November 24.

To fight riots, a special force of 10,000 security personnel with training would be formed in Punjab.

In addition to approving the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority Rules 2024, the Provincial Cabinet authorized changes to the law to make kite flying a non-bailable offense.

The speed at which the Saudi agreements and memorandums of understanding pertaining to investment in Pakistan are being implemented has pleased both leaders.

The Crown Prince’s sincere love for the Pakistani people was acknowledged by the Prime Minister.

He reaffirmed his request that the Crown Prince come to Pakistan as soon as possible. The Crown Prince responded that he was looking forward to his visit to Pakistan.
