A historic cooperation agreement was inked in Moscow by the Russian State Duma and the National Assembly of Pakistan.
The agreement intends to create long-term structures for cooperation through committees, commissions, and parliamentary groups, as well as strengthen links between the two legislative bodies.
Vyacheslav Volodin, the chairman of the Russian State Duma, and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly, signed the deal.
Speaker Sadiq thanked Mr. Volodin for agreeing to travel to Pakistan and for supporting Pakistan’s plan to have a Speakers Conference Format.
The two sides agreed to hold the fourth session of the Speakers Conference in Moscow in 2025.
Speaker Sadiq suggested that not only official but also business delegations may be invited to this meeting to enhance economic cooperation.
This development marks a significant milestone in Pakistan-Russia relations, which have been warming up in recent years.
The two countries have been cooperating in various fields, including defense, energy, and trade.
