Pakistan will launch a multi-mission communication satellite, known as PAKSAT MM-1, on May 30.

Following the triumphant launch of iCube Qamar, Pakistan is prepared to launch PakSAT-MM-1, a multi-mission communication satellite, alongside China on May 30.

PAKSAT-MM-1 would be launched from China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Centre, a spokesman for the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) said.

A representative for Suparco and the Chinese Aerospace Industry stated that the multi-mission communication satellite PakSAT-MM1R was developed in response to the nation’s connectivity and communication requirements.

With its foundation in cutting-edge communication technology, PAKSAT MM-1 will be essential to the nation’s socioeconomic development and a major step toward becoming Digital Pakistan.

Due to its superior capabilities, the satellite will be able to satisfy the expanding demands of the telecom industry and help construct a sophisticated communication network. It will also help fulfill the growing demand for seamless connectivity and high-speed internet.

Prior to this, on May 3rd, China’s Chang’E6 launched Pakistan’s historic lunar mission (ICUBE-Q) from Hainan. Pakistan’s maiden attempt at lunar exploration with the iCube-Qamar satellite project is a major turning point in the nation’s space exploration efforts.

The electrical engineering department of the Institute of Space Technology (IST) in Islamabad constructed the satellite, which weighs roughly 7 kg.

Providing a distinctive viewpoint of the moon’s surface, the satellite successfully took and sent its first pictures from lunar orbit.
