Persistently hot weather expected in Punjab plains

Across the country’s plains, the Meteorological Department predicts scorching heat today, with temperatures 2–4 degrees higher than usual. Nonetheless, different parts of the world can expect different kinds of weather, with or without rain.

Upcoming precipitation is expected in the northern regions, encompassing Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Upper Punjab. Clouds will be present, and showers are possible, in Islamabad.

The cities of Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Badin, and Umarkot can also expect to get rain in the evening. In the southern regions, places like Khuzdar, Lasbela, and Awaran may see rain in the late evening or overnight hours.

Rejuvenation of the Cholistan Desert with Rainfall

A welcome respite from the dry climate, the latest rains have revived the parched Cholistan desert.

The Cholistanis, who had to flee the territory in the past because of the extreme heat and water shortage, have returned because the rain has filled up the dry tubs with water, giving the region much-needed hydration.

Livestock from the homelands of desert residents are returning to the revitalized pastures, which are now teeming with animals. Even Bahawalpur’s dry tubs have been filled up with water thanks to the rains.
