PESCO decreases Peshawar load shedding

Published

Details: To relieve customers during the hot weather, PESCO has shortened the load shedding period on the 75 high-loss feeders to 12 hours.

Thirteen feeders located in Peshawar Circle, eighteen in Khyber, twenty-seven in DI Khan, thirteen in Bannu, three in Mardan, and one in Swabi are among the high-loss feeders.

To be clear, the PESCO will launch an operation against power thieves within the next 15 days, and load shedding relief will only last until losses start to decrease.

The ministry of power has been citing less recovery as the reason for the growing number of power outages, while KP ministers have been storming PESCO and other grid stations in the province over “excessive” loadshedding.

Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Gandapur was targeted by Minister of Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar on June 20 for allegedly “storming” a Dera Ismail Khan grid station.

The minister told a press conference in Islamabad that he could transport 1000 people to the grid station if the chief minister could only transport 100.

According to Atta Tarar, the provinces and the federal government should work together to find a mutually acceptable solution to the problems of line losses and electricity.
