On a two-day official visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for Saudi Arabia to attend the ‘One Water Summit’ in Riyadh on behalf of Pakistan.

Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, are with him.

The World Bank, Saudi Arabia, France, and Kazakhstan are organizing the conference together with the goal of securing international collaboration for the conservation and sustainable management of water resources. It seeks to address pressing issues like pollution, water scarcity, and climate change by means of high-level political commitment and international cooperation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will give a keynote speech about rehabilitating, conserving, and developing water resources during the conference. He will highlight Pakistan’s efforts to improve drinking water quality, prepare for climate change, and manage its water resources. Additionally, the PM will highlight government efforts to preserve aquatic habitats and create jobs.

It is anticipated that Shehbaz Sharif will push for increased international collaboration to address the effects of climate change, such as floods, extreme weather, and warming temperatures, which pose serious threats to water supplies around the globe. Additionally, he will urge world leaders to embrace sustainable methods in order to improve water management.

Meetings with world leaders attending the summit are expected to take place on Shehbaz’s schedule.

The One Water Summit provides a crucial forum for countries to come together in the face of the impending water crisis and investigate creative ways to guarantee that there will be clean water for coming generations.
