Prime Minister Goes Home Following COP-29 in Baku, Azerbaijan

After completing his formal three-day visit to Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has returned home.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif informed the international leaders attending the COP-29 Climate Action Summit about the challenges faced by Pakistan as a result of climate change during his visit.

At the Climate Finance Roundtable Conference, which he presided over as Pakistan’s prime minister, the world community reaffirmed its financial obligations to combat climate change.

In addition, he spoke about Pakistan’s efforts to preserve water resources and glaciers at a high-level event hosted by Tajikistan.

Bilateral meetings were held by the Prime Minister with the Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan, Denmark, and the Czech Republic on the margins of the Climate Action Summit at COP29.

A number of other heads of state, including the prime ministers of Nepal, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and the UAE, met with him informally.
