The Punjab government has set a 60 km/h speed restriction for motorcyclists throughout the state in an attempt to lower the number of speeding-related traffic incidents.

Azma Bukhari, the Punjab Information Minister, announced the move after voicing alarm over the growing incidence of traffic deaths.

“It is tragic that people are losing their lives due to speeding,” Bukhari said, highlighting how crucial this rule is to maintaining public safety.

She went on to say that stringent measures will be implemented to guarantee adherence to the new speed limit. “The speed of the motorcycle will not exceed 60 km/h.”

The province’s government is concentrating on encouraging eco-friendly transportation in addition to road safety.

The first shipment of 28 electric cars is expected to reach Lahore in two to three days, according to Azma Bukhari. This is a big step in Punjab’s acceptance of sustainable transportation options.
