Ruet-e-Hilal Committee anticipates Eid-ul-Azha date

on

As one representative of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has said, the moon for Eid is expected to be sighted on June 7, increasing the excitement for the sighting of the Zilhaj moon.

Khalid Ijaz Mufti, Secretary General of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, predicts that Monday, June 17 will be Eid-ul-Azha.

The moon will be born on June 6 at 5:38 p.m., according to Khalid Ijaz Mufti’s prediction, and it will most likely be visible by June 7 at sunset because it will be 25 hours old.

As per the committee’s research council, if the current weather holds, it will be possible to plainly see the moon on Eid-ul-Azha.

The Eid-ul-Azha holidays are scheduled to fall on June 17–19, 2024, according to the official holiday calendar. Due to the fact that the majority of government agencies close on Saturdays and Sundays, the holiday shall officially begin on June 15.

All the same, the federal government is supposed to modify the holiday calendar if Eid-ul-Azha is officially declared to fall on June 18. The days preceding Eid-ul-Azha will see the federal government release a formal statement outlining the new vacations.

SHC Justice Zafar Rajput said during Monday’s hearing of a petition against the unlawful construction of a plaza next to Mazar-e-Quaid that “everything has been fair in love and Pakistan.”

“Can you believe over an advertisement in Pakistani conditions?” the justice of the Sindh High Court asked during the hearing.

In Jamshed Town, the petitioner’s attorney said that an unlawful plaza was being constructed over a plot of land. “It has violated the sacredness of Quaid’s mausoleum,” the attorney stated.

The attorney argued that advertisements for the project’s booking have already been published. “What happens when advertisements are published?” the bench asked. The lawyer stated, “Layman will consider the project as lawful after these advertisements are published.”

After calling for additional arguments regarding the petition’s maintainability, the judge postponed the hearing for three weeks.

ADB Introduces ‘Glaciers To Farms’ Initiative to Address Food Security

Notwithstanding the devastating effects of rapid glacial melt brought on by climate change, the Asian Development Bank has introduced a new regional initiative called “glaciers to farms” that would support sustainable water usage and food security in Pakistan, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia.

The bank will carry out risk assessments of glacial melt in Azerbaijan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan with assistance from the Green Climate Fund’s Project preparation facility. This will serve as the scientific and technical foundation for the program that converts glaciers into farms.

Since the region’s temperatures are expected to climb by as much as 6 degrees Celsius by 2100, the loss of glacier mass puts the delicate ecosystem balance in jeopardy, endangering the water supply for hydropower and agriculture as well as the livelihoods of over 380 million people.

Up to 3.5 billion dollars from ADB, GCF, governments, development partners, and the private sector are anticipated to be mobilised for Glaciers to Farms, contingent upon board approvals from participating institutions.

The program will provide assistance to populations at risk from glacial melt, especially in mountainous areas, in addition to investments in agriculture and water.
