When addressing Indian media, Saeed highlighted the show’s popularity and called the reaction to Barzakh “overwhelming.”

“Barzakh has a few elements that really caught people’s interest. Some viewers originally struggled to understand the show, but with careful viewing, they will eventually grasp it. The response from the audience was exactly what we expected,” the speaker stated.

Speaking to her Indian followers as well, Saeed referred to them as “long-lost siblings” due to their shared cultural heritage.

“Our roots are the same, but our upbringings were different. Although we have evolved differently over time, we are essentially from the same land. Reaching out to long-lost siblings is a joyful experience,” she said.

Asim Abbasi, the director of Churails and Cake, has created a show that has sparked a lot of debate due to its bold concepts and content.

During its two-week launch, Barzakh has garnered attention for its portrayal of contentious subjects such non-heteronormative storylines.

In reaction to the criticism, Zindagi said that as of August 9, Barzakh would no longer be accessible on YouTube Pakistan.

The decision was taken “in light of the current public sentiment,” according to a statement on Zindagi’s Instagram.

The last episode, which premieres on August 6, won’t be accessible to Pakistani viewers until August 9.

Opinions on the show have been mixed; some have applauded the cast and plot, while others have pointed out that there isn’t enough “family-friendly” material in it.

With all due respect, please do not watch my video if you find LGBT or non-heteronormative themes “distasteful.” Abbasi has defended his artistic decisions. I will never stop fighting for everyone’s rights and sharing tales that uplift us.”

A boycott effort has been started by some Pakistani fans in response to the incident, stating that the show transgresses Islamic principles.

Critics have attacked the film’s director and stars, Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed in particular, for allegedly encouraging immorality.

Notwithstanding the backlash, Saeed is positive about her work and the positive reception from viewers. “The feedback has been exactly what we expected, and I am grateful for the support,” added the woman.
