Muslims across observed Shab-e-Barat, the night between Sunday and Monday, as a time for passion, reverence, and divine blessings.
Known as the “night of blessings,” Muslims celebrate Shab-e-Barat on the evening of Shaa’ban 14–15. As the fortunes for the upcoming year are determined, it is considered a night of forgiveness.
From Isha till Fajr, faithful people congregated in mosques and homes to offer special prayers. Prayers were offered specifically for the country’s peace, prosperity, and progress as well as for the protection of Kashmiris and oppressed Palestinians.
The real principles of Islam were emphasized by ulema and religious scholars in their speeches, and the holy night was marked with various gatherings and Mahafil-e-Naat.
Pennants and buntings of various colors were used to adorn the homes, streets, and mosques in particular. For the country’s peaceful Shab-e-Barat observance, special security measures had been put in place.
