Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been transferred to Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore.

As to reliable sources, the imprisoned PTI leader would be brought before the anti-terrorism court located in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail.

According to sources, Shah Mehmood has been implicated in multiple charges related to the riots on May 9 in Lahore, and the police have conducted interrogations with the former foreign minister while he was in jail.

Previously, the PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi was placed under court arrest due to his suspected participation in the disturbances that occurred on May 9.

Following the dismissal of the request to prolong the period of physical detention, the court has now placed the PTI leader under judicial custody under police supervision for a duration of 14 days.

Qureshi, who is now incarcerated for his accusations, underwent interrogation at Adiala Jail when he was under physical remand.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has acquitted former prime minister Imran Khan and PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the cypher case.

The ruling on the pleas contesting the conviction in the cypher case was announced by IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.

In January of this year, the founder of PTI and the vice-chairman of the party were both convicted to 10 years in prison in a case involving the use of secret codes.

Nevertheless, it seems unlikely that both individuals will be granted parole from prison because of Imran’s convictions in the Toshakhana and Iddat cases and Qureshi’s detention in the recent May 9 trials.
