Security forces successfully repelled a terrorist attack on a security checkpoint in Bannu’s Malikhel neighborhood, killing six Khawarij militants and martyring 12 army personnel, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In an effort to get past the checkpoint, the militants crashed a car full of ammunition against the security barricade.

The security personnel acted quickly to stop the terrorists’ attempt to breach the post after the suicide blast partially collapsed the perimeter wall. The explosion unfortunately claimed the lives of twelve army jawans.

Despite the fierce attack, the ISPR commended the jawans’ bravery for preventing additional damage and casualties.
