Muhammad Amir Nawaz, Additional Director of FIA Cybercrime Karachi, claims that students have committed crimes, including hacking school websites to disparage professors, because they are unaware of the consequences. “Parents must play an active role in guiding their children about the consequences of such actions,” said the politician.

Eight people were charged after the Karachi Cybercrime Wing processed more than 700 queries in the last 10 months.

Nawaz stressed that in spite of a manpower shortfall, the department is making every effort to settle matters as soon as possible.

The FIA has warned parents and educators to be on the lookout and teach kids how to use technology responsibly because the increase in cybercrimes is a major worry for both individuals and educational institutions.
