The NA session’s 18-point agenda was released today.

Following a two-day hiatus, the National Assembly session will resume today (Monday) at 2:00 pm at Parliament House. The session will be chaired by Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq.

An 18-point agenda for today’s meeting has been released by the National Assembly Secretariat.

The agenda for today’s meeting includes a call to action, requesting the minister of finance and revenue’s attention on the hiring of the company “McKinsey” for tax digitization.

A bill to further alter the Anti-Dumping Duties Act, 2015 will be introduced by Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan [The Anti-Dumping Duties (Amendment) Bill, 2025]. The Extradition (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which would further revise the Extradition Act of 1972, would be introduced by Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of the Interior and Narcotics Control.

As mandated by clause (2) of Article 89 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi will also present the Societies Registration (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024 (No. XI of 2024) to the National Assembly.

The session will include presentations of resolutions to extend the Income Tax (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024 (X of 2024) and the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024 (IX of 2024).

Over the course of the session, the chairman of the standing committees on parliamentary affairs, communications, information technology, and narcotics control will present reports covering the period from July 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.

Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of Finance and Revenue, presented the January 2025 fiscal and debt policy statements as well as the performance monitoring report for the fiscal year 2023–2024 to the National Assembly.

This House would also extend its sincere gratitude to President Asif Ali Zardari for his speech to the joint session of both Houses on March 10, 2025.

Naseer Soomro, Pakistan’s tallest man, has died at the age of 55 following a prolonged struggle with lung disease and joint pain.

His relatives report that he passed away in his hometown of Shikarpur, where he will be interred.

Soomro, at 7 feet 9 inches in height, was regarded as one of the tallest individuals globally, standing at least three feet above the average person. His exceptional stature garnered him national and worldwide acclaim, elevating Pakistan’s prominence on a global platform.

Challenges and acknowledgment
Soomro was an employee of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), appointed for his exceptional stature. In recent years, he encountered indifference from both the government and his institution, grappling with health complications and financial hardships.

Soomro was hospitalized numerous times owing to chronic lung disease, as reported by his relatives, although he persisted in combating his declining health.
