While in Pakistan’s Sindh province this week on a diplomatic visit, the United Arab Emirates promised educational support and free visas for members of the Sukkur district council.

During his visit to the Sukkur district council, UAE Consul General Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al-Rumaithi announced a number of measures, including scholarships for ten local students to study in other countries. Plans to build a hospital for women and children in the area were announced at the same time.

Al-Rumaithi and Sukkur District Council Chairman Syed Kumail Haider Shah signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) that formalized these agreements on behalf of the diplomatic mission. The construction of the Sukkur Tower Monument is also covered under the agreements.

The UAE’s ability to process visas was emphasized by Al-Rumaithi during the tour, pointing out that the largest UAE visa center in Asia is located in Karachi. He urged Pakistanis to deal with the visa facility directly instead of using travel companies.

The Consul General highlighted that there are two million Pakistani expats in the United Arab Emirates, highlighting instances of successful integration, such as a Pakistani woman in a top role in the healthcare industry.

Al-Rumaithi acknowledged the district’s act of lighting Sukkur during UAE’s National Day celebrations, saying, “Our relations are built on mutual love and respect.”

The diplomatic endeavor, which focuses specifically on healthcare development and educational prospects in Pakistan’s Sukkur district, is a major step toward enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
