“Wakeel Online” application introduced in Islamabad

The “Wakeel Online” app was launched in Islamabad, and Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said that this platform will let even people without means for legal expenses seek help.

German Ambassador Alfred Grannas said it was admirable that the public was interested in the app.

In his address, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar noted that initiatives aiming at giving millions of Pakistanis legal aid started in 2020. Legal processes, he observed, are now less convoluted than they were years ago.

The Wakeel Online app already known to about 700,000 Pakistanis.

On the app, 1,000 lawyers have enrolled; many more are under vetting.

German Ambassador Alfred Grannas also spoke at the ceremony, saying Wakeel Online has evolved from a project to a fully running software.

He voiced hope that the app would be helpful going forward and provide plaintiffs with efficient legal assistance.
