100 seized in operation on illegal call center in Islamabad, including foreigners: NCCIA
ISLAMABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has busted an illegal contact center in Islamabad and arrested 100 persons during the operation.
“During the raid, 17 foreign nationals were among those taken into custody,” said an NCCIA official.
A spokeswoman stated there was indications of an unethical application on the call center. Investigators also uncovered evidence of financial schemes connected to India and Brazil.
The NCCIA said that the contact center was sealed after the operation and all data and devices found at the premises were taken in custody.
“Action against illegal call centers is on-going across the country,” claimed the NCCIA spokesperson.
The agency said the operations are aimed at taking action against illegal contact center activities and protecting pertinent data and electronic equipment recovered during such searches.
