A 5.4-magnitude earthquake shakes portions of KP and Islamabad.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a 5.4-magnitude earthquake that originated in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan rocked Islamabad and various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.

According to the PMD, the earthquake occurred at 12:51 a.m. at a depth of 187 km, with its epicentre situated in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

Islamabad and its environs, as well as Peshawar, Malakand, and a number of other Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts, experienced tremors.

Following the earthquake, there were no immediate reports of injuries or property damage.

The earthquake had a somewhat lower magnitude of 5.3, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The epicentre was located approximately 35 miles south-southwest of Jurm, Afghanistan.
